Description

The Pressing Kick is designed primarily to break the knee joint or calf bone, but it can also be applied for other tactical purposes. It is a downward pressing motion targeting lower-level areas, making it particularly effective as a counter against an advancing opponent. It is classified into Outward Kick (Bakuro Chagi) and Inward Kick (Anuro Chagi).

Execution Principles

• The point of focus should be lower than the knee joint of the stationary leg. • Proper balance and posture must be maintained to avoid vulnerability after the strike.

Outward Pressing Kick – Bakuro Chagi

Main Targets: • Knee joint • Shin Secondary Targets: • Temple • Philtrum • Solar plexus Attacking Tool: Footsword (Balkal) Execution Notes: 1. Lock the stationary knee at the moment of impact. 2. Lean the body slightly away from the kicking foot for balance and reach. 3. Strike in a controlled downward arc to apply force effectively.

Inward Pressing Kick – Anuro Chagi

Main Targets: • Fossa (popliteal area behind the knee) • Occasionally the inner or outer knee joint Attacking Tool: Side Sole (Yopbal Badak) Execution Notes: 1. Utilize the knee spring of the stationary leg for power. 2. Keep the kicking leg slightly bent at the moment of impact. 3. Drive the attack inward across the target’s line of movement.

Application

• Particularly effective for disabling or destabilizing the opponent’s leg structure. • Can be executed in both offensive and defensive scenarios. • Low height makes it difficult for the opponent to block effectively.
