L-Stance is a narrow, defensive stance with most of the body weight on the rear leg. It offers excellent mobility and stability for blocking, guarding, and counterattacking, particularly in side or angled confrontations. The stance forms an “L” shape when viewed from above.
• Length: Approximately 1.5 shoulder widths from the toes of the rear foot to the toes of the front foot. • Width: About 2.5 centimeters (1 inch) wide from heel to heel. • Weight Distribution: About 70% on the rear leg and 30% on the front leg. • Front Foot: Points forward. • Rear Foot: Points about 15 degrees outward. • Knees: Slightly bent, rear knee aligned vertically over the rear toes.
